UpLift MKE Press Conference

Creation of Milwaukee County's UpLift MKE program was announced at a press conference held in the 6th Street Café on the Downtown Milwaukee Campus. MATC President Dr. Vicki J. Martin was among the speakers that included Chris Abele, Milwaukee County executive; Earl Buford, Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) president and CEO; Gina Spang, Milwaukee Public Schools chief of staff; and Peter Feigin, Milwaukee Bucks president. The new initiative, which will provide training, support and access to jobs, focuses on neighborhoods with the highest unemployment rates in the county.
