U.S. Labor Secretary Perez Visits MATC

U.S. Labor Secretary Thomas Perez and U.S. Sen. Tammy Baldwin toured MATC’s Downtown Milwaukee campus and met with students, instructors and administrators during a visit to Milwaukee that centered on President Obama administration’s push to train American workers for high-paying jobs that are in demand. While at the college, Perez took part in a roundtable discussion led by MATC President Dr. Vicki Martin which also included legislators, local business leaders, and MATC apprentice graduates. Perez also announced that the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development would receive $200,000 from the U.S. Labor Department to expand apprenticeship programs.
